The Dog Who Wanted to Fly is by the same author as a favourite of mine, Red is Best. I always thought that was a good book and my kids liked it as did many of the other kids I read books too.

The book is about a dog named Zora who has trouble catching squirrels and so wants to fly. Tully the cat says “Dogs can’t fly” but Zora is sure she can figure out how. Then an emergency happens and Zora needs to fly to help. Can she do it?

The book was very cute and the illustrations were perfect. My young children enjoyed it as much as I did. It was fun to see all the ways Zora tries to fly.

Our old dog Essence used to jump so high it was almost like she was flying. This book reminded me of her.

I recommend this book to children 3-6.
