If your family loves games night but wants something with a little bit more bonding and personal, Kizuna Quest may be what you are looking for. We had the opportunity to test out and review this game and share it with you.
Kizuna means “bond” in Japanese so this game is literally about bonding. I want to share a little bit from the creators:

I brought this card game to a family BBQ to test it out. It was my husband and I, and our 4 kids, plus my parents and brother. The game was actually really easy to play and very fun and interesting.
There is no board, no playing pieces and no specific order. It’s just cards which makes it very portable and easy to pull out or put away before a meal. You can even play during a meal as long as everyone finishes chewing before speaking!
The cards all have beautiful imagery and include a title and then Main, Bonus and Advanced. The way we played was I read out the Main and we went around the circle and discussed it. Anyone could pass if they didn’t want to share. We didn’t just discuss the card though, it just started our conversation. Often times we would go off on a tangent for quite a while before circling back to the next person. This was good though and fun, not an annoying thing.
Then when everyone shared we would read the Bonus and see who wanted to answer that one. Finally we did Advanced if we wanted. We skipped around and did the cards we felt like and the bonus or advanced only if we felt like it too. It’s very loosey goosey in a good way.
The most fun and laughter we had was a bonus question that had us naming which food or animal we felt the person to our left reminds us of or is like. It ended up being way funnier than it sounds like it should be.
Kizuna Quest is a great game and I plan to use more cards with my family but also with our Girl Guide Group.
