My-Little-Pony-Equestria-Girls

My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic has morphed! In this spin off (My Little Pony Equestria Girls), Princess Twilight Sparkle steps through a mirror into an alternate world where everyone walks on two legs and eats with their hands.

Released August 6, 2013 on DVD and Blu-ray.

Synopsis:
When a crown is stolen from the Crystal Empire, Twilight Sparkle pursues the thief into an alternate world where she transforms into a teenage girl who must survive her biggest challenge yet…high school. With help from her new friends who remind her of Ponyville’s Applejack, Rarity, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, and Fluttershy, she embarks upon a quest to find the crown and change the destiny of these two parallel worlds.

My Original Thoughts: What the? I was unsure about this. I love My Little Pony as much as my kids but I wasn’t sure about this spin off.  The ponies turned into thin teenage girls, I wasn’t sure my kids would get it since they are in high school. But I wanted to give it a chance since we are such big My Little Pony fans.

After the Movie: We loved it! It was a little weird the first time but we watched it again and again many times after. It still has the best part of My Little Pony, the songs! If you watch just the beginning, you will notice it seems like any teen movie with bullies and the shy ones and outcasts. However if you give it a chance and watch the whole thing you will see lessons about friendship that are typical of My Little Pony.

Sure it’s got the typical skinny girl look that most movies for tween girls seem to have but overall it’s a great movie and my almost tween girls love it. Even my son watches it.
