Peg + Cat is a PBS Kids TV show that shares math concepts with kids in a fun way. In this book, your child will learn about the greater than (>), less than (<) and equal signs (=) at the same time that they learn about a Muslim holiday called Eid al-Adha.

Your child can help Peg, Cat, Yasmina and Amir to figure out how to separate their meat in three equal bowls so they can share with their neighbours and the less fortunate. Your child will learn what a third means and about the importance of helping the needy.

The book is definitely about math, even the page numbers are mathematical. Instead of 10, 11, 12 it says: 9+1=10, 10+1=11 and 11+1=12 at the bottom of each page. Also the paper cover for the book comes off and is a colouring sheet to practice the <, > and = lessons. You can access the colouring sheet online too if you want.

The story was very fun and my daughter enjoyed learning about a new culture. She told me her kids would celebrate Eid al-Adha and when I told her only Muslims celebrate it she told me her kids would be Muslim which I thought was cute.
