If you loved Gnomeo and Juliet or you like parody movies you will love Sherlock Gnomes which you can now find on Blu-Ray, DVD and Digital. Don’t think you have to watch the first one though because you don’t. The story is all on it’s own.

Here’s the story:

When Gnomeo (James McAvoy) and Juliet (Emily Blunt) discover their friends and family have gone missing, there’s only one gnome to call – the legendary detective Sherlock Gnomes (Johnny Depp). Working together, the mystery takes them beyond the garden walls and across the city on an unforgettable journey to save the day and bring the gnomes home.

The Blu-ray Combo Pack has almost 45 minutes of bonus content where you can meet the cast, find out how the story came to be, enjoy a new music video and learn to draw your favourite Gnomes.

The movie is also filled with music by Elton John which is always a good addition.

Please note that the movie is rated PG (for rude and suggestive humour) in the US and G in Canada.

Sherlock Gnomes

The story is obviously a play on Sherlock Holmes and just like the original you will find Watson and lots of detective solving. There’s jokes for adults, singing and adventure. It’s a good family movie.

The movie has gotten some flack around the net for being a bore but I think it was cute and although perhaps NOT a must see it’s worth choosing for movie night.
