Our Love Story (Cheerios Connection Story) #CheeriosEffect

Spread the love

I want to write about the one who loves me, supports me and protects me no matter what life throws at us. His name is Frank and he is my husband. Thanks to Cheerios I was able to create a video to share with my friends and family to show how Frank came into my life. It’s based on the Cheerios Effect, more on that later.

We have been together for 10 years and just got married this year on our 10th anniversary of being together. He’s blessed me with 4 beautiful children and a step-son and 10 happy years together. We met online but not your average dating site. It was a local online group that I created. The group held meetings and he came to one of them. I didn’t know it then but he was destined to be my one and only and I don’t know where I’d be today without him but it wouldn’t be a good place. I am eternally grateful to have found him.

The Cheerios Effect

Put some Cheerios in a bowl of milk and watch and what happens? They float together. That’s why this campaign was created. The way that Cheerios act is as symbol for connection in real life. We all need real life connections.

You might ask yourself, what does cereal have to do with human connections? Well, the Cheerios Effect is a real scientific principle that is nicknamed after the cereal, and it’s about the fact that if you drop two Cheerios into a bowl, they’ll always eventually float together and connect. Just like those two tiny, floaty little Os, we’re all drawn together.  In fact, we’re hard-wired to connect with those around us.  Nothing could be more natural. And no matter who you are, where you live, or who you choose to share your life with, Cheerios believes that everyone is worthy of love and connection. This idea is summed up in the campaign tagline: “We all love to connect. That’s the Cheerios Effect.”

Cheerios created a set of videos to share the Cheerios Effect. Below is one of my favourites. As a dog parent, I can identify with the love connection between a dog and a person.

Cheerios really is a symbol for love and connections since it’s been one of my favourite breakfast cereals since I was a little one. I have memories of as far back as age 3 or 4 and then my children love cheerios too. Cheerios is in my life forever and so is my family.
