Let the month of August be full of adventure before the kids go back to school. Netflix has a bunch of adventurous shows and movies for kids (see more suggestions below.)

My older girls (ages 7 and 8) watched Tad: The Lost Explorer and we sat down and discussed their thoughts.

*Spoiler Alert*

My 7 year old liked the romance of the movie the best. She said she liked when Tad and Sarah kissed. When I asked her to elaborate, she said she enjoyed how she liked someone else at first (the bad guy) but then she fell in love with Tad and eventually they kissed. I taught her the word romance.

My 8 year old (who said “YUCK! at the mention of Romance) liked the action/adventure the best. She said she liked when it seemed like they were in danger and then at the last minute they pulled themselves out of it. She described scenes from the movie for me. I taught her the word action for that part of the movie.

I did not see the movie myself as they watched it with their Godmother but I’m glad it appealed to both of them. Checking out the page for the movie, some reviews mention things that might make a parent decide the movie is not alright for their child to watch. I am comfortable with my children’s maturity level to handle it. You have to make the choice that is right for you though.
