I have always been surrounded by Fisher Price toys. At home, at playgroup, at my friend’s houses, when I was a child, even in the church nursery where we run our Girl Guide unit. I have fond memories of many toys of my childhood and many of them were Fisher Price, although the older versions. In fact the Fisher Price toys at the church nursery ARE the older versions.

In fact I created a Pinterest board about my childhood, pinning toys and objects I had as a child, some of which were Fisher Price.

Why Fisher Price is Worth It

Of the above list, I currently own: Ocean Wonders Aquarium, Brilliant Basics Rock a Stack and Laugh & Learn Love to Play Puppy. I own an older version of those toys because I own the same ones I had when my 7 year old was a baby. These products have lasted me through 3 kids and are showing no sign of slowing down anytime soon.  That’s what I like best about Fisher Price toys. I’d much rather pay a little bit more than a cheap toy brand to have a toy that will not break during my child’s lifetime. The thing is, they really aren’t much more!

Little People Wheelies Stand ‘n Play Rampway

We have the Little People Wheelies Stand ‘n Play Rampway at our playgroup and my son loved it so much I had intended to buy him one for last Christmas. I couldn’t find any in the stores however so I bought the Fisher Price Wheelies Loop n Swoops Amusement Park instead. It’s very similar but he doesn’t play with it as much as he does the rampway at playgroup.

I frequent our playgroup (at least 3 times a week) and I must say that the rampway is one of the most favourite toys. You rarely ever see one child playing with it either. As soon as one grabs the cars and goes over there, two or three more children crawl, toddle or walk over to play. It can be played from all sides which makes it a perfect “group” toy.

Ocean Wonders Aquarium

As I stated, I own an older version of this musical crib toy. My children always have music to sleep at night. They always have and I would not be surprised if they always will. My oldest two have migrated to a CD and stereo but my youngest has to have his Ocean Wonders Aquarium music playing to go to sleep. He knows how to turn it on and off himself as needed and helps calm him down to go to sleep. When used with the music and lights but not the movement, the batteries actually last a pretty good amount of time. As soon as my son Liam is laid down in his crib, he ask for his music.

The only thing I thought could be improved on the old version was a remote control which was added to the new version (see below.) However I’ve been happy with my original and have used it with 3 children now with no problems.
