Wonder Woman Costume from Anytime Costumes

This is Not Our First Superhero Costume

My husband and my brother are both heavily into comic books and superheroes so naturally, there interest has rubbed off on my daughters. Our whole family were superheroes from the Batman family for Halloween 2012. My younger daughter, pictured here, loves to dress up so when I asked her if she’d like one of the superhero costumes her answer was…

“YEAH!” (said deafeningly loud and repeatedly while jumping around the room)

My daughter gets very excited over anything she likes. We looked at the Anytime Costumes website and while she liked a few of them, she ultimately decided to go with Wonder Woman.

Ordering and Sizing

I didn’t place an order the same way a customer would but I can say that shipping is pretty fast. The costume was in it’s plastic pouch inside a padded envelope. It arrived in tip top shape. The website is easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. There are TONS of costumes to choose from for babies to adults for every imaginable character, type, era, holiday and even what you might NOT think of.

I did have problems deciding on a size. The size chart on the website puts my 5 year old at 3 different sizes. She is one row for her age, another for her height and yet another for her waist size. Pictured below is the US Size Chart with where my daughter fits marked. There is an International chart too but I know Imperial measurements best for body measurements. The website mentions it runs small so I was going to get the Medium but they were out of stock so I just ordered the small. See how it fits in the next section.

The Costume Arrives

Wonder Woman Costume for ChildrenAs 5 year olds are apt to do, she promptly forgot about the costume until it arrive on our doorstep. Then the excited screaming and jumping started all over again. The pictures above were taken right after she put on the costume for the first time. The costume stayed on for the rest of the day and there have been a few other days since then of non-stop wearing.

So above I mentioned having sizing issues. As you may be able to tell from the pictures, the dress itself is a bit too short for her but she has been wearing tight pants under it so that’s not a problem. We found some of the accessories to be too big though but not so big she cannot use it. The belt is loose, but she fit under the Toddler size waist so that’s not a surprise. It stays up though. The arm bands are loose enough she can pull them up to her armpits but again, they don’t really fall off and she loves them. The headband fits just right and the boot covers slip down a bit but overall, fit fine.

The cape is attached to the shirt and the boot covers have elastic bands that got under your feet/shoes to hold them on. The headband also uses and elastic band so it can stretch to fit the child’s head.

Quality and Price

The material is of a cheaper variety but that’s why you can get it for a manageable price. For those of us who can’t spend $60+ on a child’s costume, this is perfect. I was disappointed however that there was a rip in one of the boot covers the day she got it. I think it may have been ripped when we got it as we noticed it just after she put it on, before she had even played in it. It’s on the seam though so I can fix it. It’s not going to last through multiple hand me downs or a year of wearing it all day every day, but it is perfectly fine as a Halloween costume or for your child’s play dress up bin.

The prices vary depending on which costume you are looking at and what size you want. The superhero costume I bought is sold for $29.99 and there are often discounts for holidays and special promotions.
